What is it
This is a Bluetooth GPS antenna (Global Positioning System) for your smartphone or tablet to greatly increase location precision and update/refresh rate while at speed or in heavy terrain.
This is no different than the white Lowrance antenna some may use to boost your positioning in the world... this is just the bluetooth version for smartphones and tablets.

What is it NOT
This is NOT a data device that would provide you with internet or load background maps into the background of LEADNAV while "off the grid"....that would be cool for the one time cost of this unit... but sorry... you will need Starlink mounted to your roof for that and a monthly service plan!
Benefits
- Ability to swap the battery cell
We have plenty of folks who only run these a few times a year and unfortunately choose not to maintain these units very well by keeping them charged and discharged, which in turn can kill the battery. Also, leaving them bake in a car all summer long can do this as well. With the Dual unit this kills the entire unit making it not even work while plugged in to a power source. With the Garmin GLO you can simply remove the battery and replace it and the unit being plugged in will still function by bypassing the battery
- Slimmer design and form factor
Easier to slap in your pocket or backpack by itself and a lot more stream lined attached to your roll cage
- You can actually get ahold of the company
While selling and promoting the Dual XGPS160 units for many years, it has been very frustrating dealing with the Warranty's through this company as they are literally non responsive to their customers. With Garmin at least we can get in direct touch with them but with the swappable battery we don't have to trash the whole unit.
Downsides
- The Garmin GLO allows only one connection (one iPhone or iPad) whereas the Dual XGPS160 allows up to five connected devices (so essentially every device in you vehicle. For example, Drivers iPhone and Copilots iPad).
Design and Manufacturing Warranty
Our LNG bracket mount is designed and constructed in-house through laser sintered Nylon 12 and is very strong and heat/cold resistant. If for some reason you break the bracket mount itself we will replace the broken part.
The Garmin GLO itself is covered by Garmin themselves through any current Warranty they provide. If you break the Garmin GLO or it is not working, you can first try and order a replacement battery otherwise you will need to contact Garmin for Warranty options.
